About Me

Hi, I’m Zach! I’m a creative professional with a background in graphic design, UX, and production coordination—and a passion for building experiences that are not only polished and engaging but also accessible and inclusive. I earned my degree in Graphic Information Technology at Arizona State University, with a secondary focus in Usability/Psychology. My studies deepened my understanding of how design affects real people, and I focused heavily on making sure that both web and marketing materials work for everyone, without excluding or singling anyone out.

Over nearly a decade of experience, I’ve brought that mindset into fast-paced roles—designing digital and print visuals, coordinating live productions for audiences from 5 to 5,000, and leading and mentoring teams. I’m passionate about balancing creative vision with thoughtful execution, making sure every project comes together smoothly and works as well as it looks. Whether I’m designing, troubleshooting, or training, I aim to be the calm in the chaos and someone people know they can rely on.

A core value I hold—thanks to my mom’s advice that “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well”—is to lead with integrity and excellence. I believe success is measured not just in flawless execution but in a commitment to learning, adapting, and creating experiences that connect meaningfully with all audiences.

Portfolio

Here’s a quick glimpse of a few projects I’ve done in the past few years.

The Event

Developed as a branding package for studentlife, the student ministry at Real Life, “The Event” included content for multiple mediums (social and digital). To captivate middle & high school students, bold colors and large text were employed.

EarsJohnny!

Inspired by the movie “The Shining,” the branding for this Etsy shop, EarsJohnny!, plays off the phrase “Here’s Johnny!” The shop creates Disney-inspired ears and other products. The logo design incorporates its own “Mickey Ears” and uses a playful yet commanding font.

Now Brewing

Designed as a creative project for GIT334: Image Editing & Manipulation, this “Now Brewing” cover drew inspiration from Starbucks’ internal seasonal magazine. The design adheres to Starbucks Creative Expression, ensuring alignment with official branding guidelines.

“How To Make the Perfect French Press”

Inspired by Buzzfeed’s “How To” TikTok videos, this project for GIT 502: New Media Internet Tech uses text, visual elements, and up-tempo music to engage viewers. The TikTok video is designed to convey the right amount of information within a one-minute time frame.

studentlife | Instagram Stories

In early 2020, as COVID-19 forced student ministry online, there was a need for easily sharable and understandable content. To address this, we created a unique design package for our Instagram Posts and Stories. The designs cleverly mimicked the look of phone notifications from various popular platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch. This approach was designed to resonate with teenagers, making the content more relatable and engaging, and encouraging wider dissemination among their peers.
